Happy Hour Live: Third Thursdays with The Balance King
A monthly sound-curation residency for the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville’s Happy Hour Live series.
Third Thursdays gave The Balance King and New Company one night a month to design the sound of the museum. The sets moved across Osunlade, Kaytranada, Solange, Four Tet, Jamie xx, Caribou, and more, with live Moog Subsequent 37 overdubs played into the room. Each mix was archived afterward.
The residency also moved onto WJCT’s Taste Test Radio with Damien Lamar. In April 2020, MOCA’s smART platform featured The Balance King and Zaiche’s HOME COOKIN playlist alongside the Third Thursdays archive.
